FAQ for beginner online gamblers
|
| |
| What is an internet casino or
online casino? |
| An online casino is a website on the
internet that facilitates
you to play casino games from your computer. The most
common method is to download
the software these website provide and then play the games
provided. There are many casinos now where you
can play without downloading any software. These games are called
Flash/Java games and are not as much fun as the downloaded
versions. |

|
| Is it safe and legal to gamble
online? |
| It
is probably safer to gamble online than it is to dine in a
restaurant and pay with your credit card. Most people have
false notions that hackers can steal their financial
information from the internet. All the online casinos that we know
of use advanced encryption technologies to retrieve and store your
financial information. In a restaurant, however, the waiter can
easily steal your credit card information and use it someplace
else.
Now as far as the legality of
gambling online is concerned, it is currently a subject of debate.
Since most of the online
casinos are operating from offshore (outside US)
regions like Costa Rica or Belize (and other), and
are legal in the countries where they exist,
they are out of the reach of US authorities. So there is really
little US authorities can do to stop them.
According to Professor I. Nelson Rose, one of
the world’s leading authorities on gambling law: "no United
States federal statute or regulation explicitly prohibits Internet
gambling, either domestically or abroad."
As
far as we know, currently it is perfectly OK to gamble online.
This may, however, change in the future.
Also important to note is the fact
that different internet casinos forbid gamblers from different
regions of the world. Most casinos on the net will themselves tell
you if you cannot bet with them.
NOTE: We are not attorneys
and therefore what we have said above is not a legal advice.

|
| Can you win money at casinos on
line? |
| Of course. Most casinos have
testimonials of their winners on their websites.
Most of these casinos have the payouts
monitored monthly by an independent accounting firm such as Price
Waterhouse Coopers. No casino can be in
business for too long without a fair share of winners. |

| Yes. Almost every casino lets you
play with 'fake' money. Obviously, the winning and the loosing are
also fake. |

|
| How do I play with real money
over the internet? |
Every online casino has a page
dedicated to payment options. Look for links like 'Cashier' or
'Payment Options' etc.
The most popular option and in our opinion the best is Neteller.

|
| How many
casinos are there on the internet? |
We have found close to a thousand
online casino websites. A
majority of them are the same casino backend (software) running
from different websites. Basically this means, you could
download the casino software form site A and site B and end up
with the same software.
Essentially there are a couple of dozen software that are used by
all the casino websites. |

Back to the list of FAQ's
|
| Can online
casinos cheat gamblers? |
| Yes
they can, but most don't.
The start-up cost for an online
casino can be pretty substantial and they can make a pretty solid
profit without cheating. There is enough profit from house edge
alone. It just does not make any financial
sense for an internet casino operator to be unfair. On top of
that, most online casinos have their payouts audited by major
accounting firms like PricewaterhouseCoopers.
So generally speaking, legitimate
casinos don't need to be dishonest to make a good profit. In fact, there
are more gamblers who are out to cheat casinos than the other way
around.
Having said this, some casino
operators have cheated in the past and some are still cheating.
It's called greed !
The most common complaint we hear
is that some online casinos are slow to pay out winnings or lock
player accounts claiming that players have abused their games or
played suspiciously.

of internet casinos. |

| Is there an
advantage of wagering online? |
Most definitely!
+ Cash bonuses (sort of like the free drinks and other comps )
+ You can play casino in your birthday suit !
+ No travel expenses
+ Play for FREE
(When you download a casino software, you have the option of
playing with fake money.
Of course, if you win you get fake money into your fake bank
account.) |
